Against Me! Added to Lollapalooza 2010

July 6th, 2010
In a move designed to make sure I don't leave Grant Park alive on August 8th, the final, mysterious "TBA" floating on the 2010 Lollapalooza has been revealed to be none other than the mighty Against Me!. The band will be playing at 2:30 on the adidas stage on the south end of the park. They also are the starting point of an absolutely devastating stretch in the south end that includes Gogol Bordello, AFI, Social Distortion and an epic length set by Green Day. 2:45 to 10:45 with only an hour's break in the music.....can I do it? You tell me.

In the mean time, here's a fan shot video from a recent show in Rock...

While no official compilation of aftershows has been released from Pitchfork Music Festival, we did a little digging ourselves to find out what was going down in downtown Chicago every night following the festival sets, which tend to end promptly at 10PM. All of the aftershows work on that schedule with most shows starting around 10:30 and the headliners allowing you to party way into the night. Thursday night gets it all started off with your official Pitchfork Music Festival Kick Off Party starring Neon Indian, Dam-Funk, and El-P (DJ Set) at the...

Beach Fossils to Take Javelin, Warpaint on...

July 1st, 2010
Lo-Fi music keeps building steam, almost rivaling that of the now omni-present chillwave, and Beach Fossils are taking to the music to the masses this summer on a quick jaunt with the sample-laden Javelin and the ladies of Warpaint. All of the bands have busy summers, including stops at Lollapalooza for the undercard, but that won't prevent them from having a veritable all-star lineup hit the vaguely northeasterly portion of the country. Dates below:

The xx Swing Through North America With...

June 22nd, 2010
These shows from The xx are getting less and less intimate as the band continues to get a lot of media exposure, play festivals, and infectiously spread through bedrooms around the world. The band have announced some of their last dates for some time as they work on their sophomore album, so this could be your last chances to see them perform their "best of 2009" record xx in full. Warpaint will be joining them through their North American dates and there are quite a few European dates to catch them as well. See them before these theatre shows turn into arenas and you have to share your bedroom with thousands upon...

Titus Andronicus Take On North America...

June 22nd, 2010
Even with the total onslaught of magnificent releases that 2010 has brought us so far, Titus Andronicus' early contender for album of the year, The Monitor, has held up extremely well. Even more admirable is the non-stop touring the rough and tough band has been doing in support of the record, which continues this Summer and fall starting with a stop at Brooklyn's Northside Festival with Cults, Male Bonding, and more this weekend followed by a trip across the pond to Denmark's Roskilde Festival. The band will then be stomping all over North America with Hallelujah the Hills and Free Energy while making a weekend in Chicago at...
