Death Cab For Cutie Hit The Road Again

As if they didn't even stop touring, indie-rockers Death Cab For Cutie are again hitting the international tour circuit. Announcing their fall dates, the band has delivered on their promise and is hitting many major cities that haven't received a show since their May release of Narrow Stairs.

But even though Death Cab's success has them looking like giants, they've decided to take a step out of the headlining position through part of their tour. Partnering with folk-rock legend Neil Young for 11 dates, fans will have to arrive early as they'll be the opening act.

Bloc Party Give Us Intimacy On New Album

British rockers Bloc Party announced today that their third-studio album will be titled Intimacy. Pre-order for the album is now available. Although the physical CD isn't released until October 27th, anyone who pre-orders the album will receive a link to download the full album this Thursday, August 21st.

Deciding to switch nights over the course of their month long trek across the states, The Hold Steady & Drive-by Truckers, mapped out their upcoming tour together. Called the "Rock and Roll Means Well Tour," the dates start up in Louisville, KY at the end of October and finish up in L.A. just in time for the boys to head home for Thanksgiving.

Peter Bjorn & John Dish Out Album...

Sweedish not-rockers Peter Bjorn and John have announced the details of their upcoming album Seaside Rock. Opening the press release proclaiming that they're "not a real rock band," the trio goes on to explain the conception of their upcoming album.

Inspired by the orchestral sounds they all experienced as young grade school children, Peter Bjorn and John decided to write Seaside Rock as "an instrumental album with these types of sounds...."

In an email sent this morning, Julian Velard informed fans that his upcoming major-label release has been pushed back until the beginning of next year. But he consoles, "Never fear my friends, cause this is good news for you! It means I'll be on the road this autumn greasing the engines for my big push, including a long-awaited return tour of the USA!"

Rage Against the Machine Headline Free...

Rage Against the Machine will headline the upcoming Tent State Music Festival to End the War on August 27th at the Denver Coliseum. The show, which is free and co-sponsored by Iraq Veterans Against The War, will also feature performances by Flobots, The Coup, State Radio and Wayne Kramer as part of the event.

Tickets to the event will be awarded in through a lottery. To enter, participants must bring a valid ID to Tent State University's Cuernavaca Park between 11:00am and 6:30pm PST August 24-26....

Yeasayer Headline First Tour

After supporting MGMT for the past few months, Yeasayer has gained enough confidence to hit the road on their own, and pull in a packed venues themselves. The first time as headliners, the Brooklyn band have mapped out a cross-country route that will surely keep their energy high before entering into the studios in early 2009 to record the follow up to their debut All Hour Cymbals.

Support for the tour has not been announced yet.

Los Campesinos! have invited two friends, and favorite indie-rockers Times New Viking and No Age to invade the UK this October. Shortly after announcing the release of their upcoming LP We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed, being dropped by Wichita Records on October 13th, Los Campesinos just kept on pleasing. Fans in the States will have to wait till November 11 to get their hands on We Are Beautiful...through Arts & Crafts.
